Free .com Domain Name

Free .COM Domain Name for 1 year
1and1 offers a free 1-year .COM domain name registration and free here, means 'FREE'. No hidden charges, no fine-prints. But you must know beforehand, that you would need a valid credit-card to register for the offer. Additionally, you would be better-off putting a reminder in your calendar to remind you in a year's time that you must cancel your subscription as it is set to auto-renew (which would be charged). In case, your site is doing well, you might as well continue with your domain name.
I haven't found any other site offering free .COM registration (In case, you have please comment below!). Pretty good deal I would say. Find the link to the site below.

Other free domains
In case, you want to get a free domain name other than .COM then there are several providers for that. Major ones include:
.tk. The domain name of Tokelau, a small Pacific island, is freely available. As an example, you could register the name www.yourname.tk completely free. E-mail messages sent to the .TK addresses can be forwarded to another e-mail account. It has a feature for automatically creating a short URL for the promotion of an online auction, as well as a built-in targeted link exchange advertising system called "TiKinet." For a small fee, additional features such as the elimination of Dot.TK advertising, DNS service, and legal domain ownership are included.
.blogspot. Owned by Google, generally for blogging purposes. Supports Adsense.
.co.nr. If you already own your domain name but it is not exactly the one you wanted or it is too long, you can always get a .co.nr and redirect it to your own URL. This way it will be easier to have a shorter URL and to send people there without mistakes. If you want to set a .co.nr (www.yourname.co.nr) domain you should start by choosing the subdomain name you want and see if it is available. You can do this on their home page FreeDomain.CO.NR by just typing the name you want and click on the "Check!" button and see if it is available or not.
